Since Cold Sprng is not that big, there is only one organization where you can book the tours; at Hudson River Expeditions.

Hike one of the many hiking trails

In the Cold Spring area you will find a lot of hiking trails. There are no fewer than 28! The most famous is Breakneck Ridge trail. You will find the trail just outside the village. You can take a taxi or walk to the trail. This is about 7KM. The hike is labeled as difficult, because you also have to climb a lot. So be well prepared before you start this hike and make sure you have good walking shoes. The trail route runs in a circle (one loop) and it takes about 3 to 4 hours. It gives you an incredibly beautiful view over the Hudson River. Also a fan of wild animals? Then you can certainly indulge yourself here. You can encounter eagles, vultures, hawks and deer during the hike.

There are also plenty of trails for the less experienced hiker. For example, you have Bull Hill. This trail is less difficult than Breakneck Ridge, but it also has beautiful viewpoints. The starting point of this hike is at Little Stoney Point. The first few kilometers you go uphill, but you don’t have to rock climb. The trail is well marked with markers on trees and stones. Unfortunately we were not able to finish the trail completely because of the weather, but the start looked very good! And another plus, we were almost the only one! So you really have the feeling of being away from it all. At the starting point you can also find a trail map that clearly shows you where to go. Make sure you have enough water and snacks with you, because you cannot buy anything during the hike.
